Amber Alert’s community documentation describes a class system built around Civil, Economy, Utility, Healer, and Combat roles, with classes unlocked using Amber and organized by star ratings. The current official 3.0 description does not publish the class roster, costs, perk values, or skill status. Use the documented names to understand possible roles, then read the current lobby panel before spending currency or planning a build.

There is no class tier list here. Map, difficulty, group size, Shop balance, tasks, and threat behavior change what a class contributes. A strong choice solves your team’s current problem and has effects you can confirm in the current server.

These labels are a community snapshot from the 2.0-era Classes page. They are useful questions for the 3.0 lobby, not official current categories until the live panel repeats them.

Currently documented names

Community sources list Starter, Sprinter, Engineer, Hider, Priest, Shopper, Farmer, Jester, Medic, Trapper, Police, Rich Kid, and SWAT. They connect these names to different star ratings, Amber costs, and roles. Some entries were labeled unreleased or incomplete even in that source, and the current 3.0 description does not confirm the roster.

Do not treat this as a complete available list. Open Classes List for the detailed status grid. When a current lobby shows a class, record the displayed star count, role, cost, perks, starting items, skill status, and unlock requirement. Leave unsupported fields empty.

If a community class does not appear, it may be removed, unreleased, disabled for the current map, or moved by the update. Absence from one server is not enough to choose which explanation is correct.

Choose by the last failure

If you became lost or trapped, a movement or self-reliance role may help, but map practice could solve the same problem for free. If the team lacked information, compare utility and CCTV. If resources disappeared too quickly, examine economy. If teammates stayed down, examine support. If a specific threat or task requires confrontation, inspect combat options only after confirming the effect.

Name the problem before opening the class menu. Read the current class description, then ask whether the effect applies to this map, difficulty, group size, and Shop economy. A five-star label does not automatically answer that question.

For solo play, value effects you can trigger and benefit from without coordination. For squads, avoid choosing four copies of the same role until you know stacking works. Complementary information, economy, support, and route control can be more useful than a lineup chosen from a ranking video.

Understand perks and skills

Older community documentation says each class has three perks and an exclusive skill, while also labeling skills as unreleased at the time. Current 3.0 status needs direct inspection. A perk can be passive, conditional, map-dependent, purchase-dependent, or tied to a starting item; do not reduce every effect to a flat bonus.

Record the exact displayed wording and test one variable. If a perk affects Shop price, compare the same item, difficulty, and purchase count with and without it. If it affects movement, use the same route. If it affects revives, record player count and conditions.

Never publish a percentage from animation feel or a single price comparison. The Perks guide supplies a repeatable process and explains the older Engineer example without calling it current fact.

Unlock without wasting Amber

Community sources say classes unlock with Amber and historically list higher costs for more stars. Current cost, prerequisites, refund rules, permanence, and progression are not in the official 3.0 description. Read the live confirmation screen and capture your before-and-after balance.

Do not count a disputed promotional code as part of your budget. The Codes page marks all current strings as unverified or conflicting. Earn and spend only what your account actually shows.

Buy a class when you can explain its use and confirm that it remains unlocked as expected. If the panel does not clearly show permanence or refund policy, assume the purchase is meaningful and avoid clicking twice.

Class and item interactions

Community role descriptions mention Shop discounts, free or starting tools, CCTV, lockdown, farming, revives, revolvers, shotguns, and night vision. These links make the Items hub and current Shop essential. A class may change access, price, stock, or starting equipment rather than raw power.

Check whether the class effect requires someone to buy an upgrade. Older Engineer notes, for example, say the CCTV Tablet required CCTV to be purchased. If that dependency still exists, a squad needs both the class choice and the Shop plan.

Do not assume persistent gamepasses stack with class perks. Compare the live text and test one combination at a time.

Build a fair comparison

Keep map, difficulty, player count, task route, and major purchases consistent. Run each class more than once. Measure useful outcomes such as tasks completed safely, travel time on the same route, resources retained, teammates recovered, or threats controlled under the same conditions.

Record failures too. A class that excels when the Shop is open may offer little on a map without the required entry. A combat tool can attract risk the group was not ready to manage. A support class depends on teammates staying within reach.

Only after repeatable tests should you make a personal preference list. It still should not be called a universal tier list without broad current evidence.

Common class mistakes

  • Spending Amber on an old listed cost without checking the current panel.
  • Choosing by stars rather than the role the team needs.
  • Treating an unreleased community entry as playable.
  • Assuming a perk stacks with another class or gamepass.
  • Testing two classes on different maps and calling the result balance evidence.
  • Copying 2.0 perk values into 3.0.
  • Selecting an item-dependent class without budgeting for the item.

Source boundary

Class names, roles, stars, and historical costs come from the community Classes page and related class entries checked September 5, 2026. The official Roblox experience confirms the current game identity and broader Shop/items/upgrades systems but does not publish class data. Every availability, cost, perk, skill, starting item, unlock, balance, and tier conclusion requires a current lobby or match check.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best class in Amber Alert 3.0?

There is no supported universal best class. Choose a current available role that solves your map and team problem, then verify the effect.

How many classes are there?

Community history names at least thirteen entries, including unreleased or incomplete ones. The official Roblox listing does not publish a current available count.

Do higher stars mean better?

Older documentation associates more stars with cost and different mechanics, but role fit matters more than a simple power claim. Read the live description.
